Whenever Midgard Systems interviews anyone for a development position, and asks them to write code during the interview, it will be on a laptop, connected to a large display so the interviewer can watch. There will be an appropriate interpreter or compiler for every language we might accept. They will write the code, they will run the code, they will debug the code.

I just spent 5 or 10 minutes writing a perl script over the phone that would have taken 30 seconds to write on a computer.
Mind you, I don't necessarily mind taking up 10 minutes of a 45 minute phone screen with something I can unequivocally get right, but.
