I'm meeting with Popcap on Monday, at 6p, to go thru the formal process.
I've given official notice to my boss at Amazon.

My last day will be 6 July, and I'm going to burn personal time taking off the Fridays until then.

Nice work Marty! There's a whole other world out there - something I forgot during my time at the 'zon. Congratulations!

Great!

...but, what will we call your MartyVersary Parties? Popaversary? AniPopary? AniPopCap ...or what?

Well, I /might/ go ahead and throw an Amazoniversary party this year; one last hurrah as it were. The popcapiversary will be too close to [livejournal.com profile] loree's birthday for its own party. I guess we'll just have to keep throwing halloween parties to fill the gap between L's bday and NewYears.

My birthday is smack in that gap if you need another reason to have a party in October.

Wow, uh, congrats. That'll be even one less person I know who's at Amazon and actually was when I was...

...in hand, right?

I only mention as I have an anecdote about an offer from Hewlett-Packard (wasn't me)...

No paper yet. But, in the unlikely circumstance they bail, I'm sure my boss would be very VERY happy to have me say I was staying.

So, are you going to poke your head in at Casuality, or stay totally out of that side of things? :)

The DSL went down, apparently around 1 or 2am.

Another reason to upgrade to a T1 line: They monitor it and fix it when it dies. No more 9-hour outages because I needed to powercycle the bridge!

On the other hand, I could look into some x10 modules connected to the monitoring system...
