Oh, and a power outage this morning. I really need to let automated shutdown working on all the servers again. And maybe wake-on-LAN to bring them back up too.
I remember you had some issues with the ripping software and had to use another. What was the best one, in the end? Lisa is doing a big archiving project for the center and she wants to get the best software for the job.
I still use Handbrake for my transcoding. For the big pipeline I set up on Vela, I was using something else to copy the disc to the hard drive, then handbrake to convert it. For HD stuff, I'm using makemkv to rip the discs, then handbrake to convert the mkvs to mp4s.
