Feb. 5th, 2008 11:33 amI chose laziness over money. We filed our taxes last night, and rather than telling BECU to re-issue the interest statement in my name, so I could claim it, we applied it to
loree's taxes. The difference it would have made to each refund was, itself, different by about $1100. That is, the total of our refunds would have been about $1100 more if I'd claimed the becu interest, instead of loree. But, it would have meant telling becu to reissue the form and waiting for them to get around to doing so, and I really wanted to get the taxes done and over with. So, of course, after submitting our returns, I start regretting the decision. Ah well. At least we're done, and accepted, and in terms of benefitting from our share of the interest it works out almost balanced anyway. la.
