tithoniumwell, I've found the load limit for the circuit that feeds the entire upstairs AND the basement lights. I added a fan, and the circuit popped. turned off the fan, reset the breaker, and it popped again before I could make it upstairs. Kral and Mosh were both trying to reboot. Turned off their power strips, reset the breaker for the Nth time, and left 'em off.
So. Put them on a UPS, and it might manage the spike well enough to avoid popping the breaker immediately, but the load will still be too high to put an A/C unit in as well. They're definitely going to need their own circuit, which means they're almost certainly going to have to go in the basement - running a circuit to the west wall of my office would mean going thru the roof. Which means they go back off and stay off until the rat problem is eliminated and I can find a half-height (or 3/4) rack.
Or until I can find somewhere to colo them, I suppose. Tho coloing kralomoc is kinda pointless, as its reason for existance is to let people ssh into my lan (say, for mooing securely, etc).
Meh.
On the other hand, now I'll have to find something else to distract me from thinking about the job thing.
