Does anybody know of any virtual-cd programs for winxp that can /successfully/ fool today's games? Even with two drives, it annoys me to have to swap out discs when I want to play different games - both Supreme Commanders and SimCity Societies require the disc to be present, as well as various other games I have played in the past or will play in the future. I'd prefer to rip all the discs to my hard drive - I've got 600 gigs free, I can afford it - and just mount them virtual.

I've tried Alcohol 52% and Virtual CD, and both were refused. SC:FA, iirc, actually went so far as to insist that I /uninstall/ my virtual disc software before it would run. I didn't test it with the real cd in to see if it would continue doing so.

I'd prefer free, but if it /works/ - just works and I don't have to fuck around with it or get a PhD in optical disc security measures - then I'd be willing to pay money. But I'm not going to pay up front; I want to see it working on my system first.

My favorites are UltraISO, WinImage and Alcohol 52% (Free Edition).
