And after all that, I missed the reminder I set for the concom meeting, and missed it. Damnit.

But, we went to costco, and I got more cleaning done in the study, and I just finished migrating mysql services off of oort and onto sarin. Migrating from 5.0 to 5.5 is not quite as much fun as it might sound.

Oh, on the monitor front... I ended up stealing one from Arcturus. I decided that, since I hardly ever /use/ Arcturus (in person, anyway, I VNC a lot) it doesn't need four monitors attached. So I took one of the 24" 1920x1200 Dells and moved it to Vela.

FOUR monitors?
So how'd you manage that? Two dual-head cards? PCIe or some other hardware? (I secretly dream of a three-screen setup some day.)

It's a Mac Pro with two dual-port dvi cards. I had two Dell 24" monitors (a 2407WFP and a 2408WFP) attached horizontally stacked, and later I added the second video card and two 22" Hitachis in portrait.

Apparently the current 27" iMac can drive external monitors off of both Thunderbolt ports. I'm pretty tempted by that setup.
