Spent the day trying to fix an antique app. Got as far as I could. Waiting on replies from outside engineering groups.

Been shopping for music. Found a London Phil version of the Super Mario theme that was particularly excellent.

Also reading. I must admit, The Final Problem was rather... boring, by comparison to most of the others so far. Tasted very much like "I want to kill this guy off, so let's do it as quickly as possible.". We all see how well that worked, don't we?

Out of curiosity, what's the shelf life of an app? When I think antique furniture I think more than 100 years, but for cars it's more like 50 years. For apps, it could be three years?

Not sure exactly.. This app predates my involvement with the company.. Probably 3-4 years.

That sounds old enough to qualify.

I dread the thought of having to wade into someone else's code to try to work on it.
