A. The pyramid for consulting the future.
Lay six cards out vertically in the shape of a pyramid. One at the top, two at the center, and three in the third row. The individual card refers to the querient's starting situation. The two center cards foretell the road to embark. The last three indicate the course that is projected into the future.
Turn over the cards one at a time, reading the responses one by one. For the second and third row, also read them all in a row; that is, one response after another.

Sep. 10th, 2004 08:44 pmSo, the little set of i ching cards I bought come with a book that gives the descriptions of each hexagram and four layouts for doing readings. This is 'The star of inner evolution'. Quoth, "Lay five cards out in the shape of a star plus a sixth card at the center and turn them over one by one in the same order in which they were placed. The five cards will investigate the querient's inner evolutionary course, whereas the last one (center) will reveal his or her current state of mind and the point of arrival."
If you can explain wth THAT means, let me know.

hollyking's interpretation was pretty good as a literal translation goes. Play a game of follow the leader with the guys. In this day and age, I'd actually extend 'fellowship of men' beyond the male gender, and say it means "Get friends to hang out and have fun". Which worked well with my plans to do finn's tonight, but most of those who might otherwise go are working on 4880 tomorrow and don't want to go tonight. So, about an hour ago I decided it meant I should ask the girl from the apple store to dinner. I have since waffled and decided not to, of course, 'cause that's what I do. But hey, it sounded like a good idea at the time.
BTW, I'll give good money to anybody who can provide me with a proper electronic i ching calculator. And if you don't know /exactly/ what I mean by that, you don't know what I mean at all. I will be very picky.
