I am in love with my Lamy Logo fountain pen, which isn't commonly sold in this country. It's a thin, light steel-nibbed pen that lists for around $40. With a converter installed it does well with a range of bottled inks. Here's a seller on eBay.

I've liked the Lamy fine nib in general, but their other inexpensive pens tend to be large plasticky things.
